Despite a tremendous stonewalling effort by the DOJ, in which they claim the House Oversight Committee has no reason to request Robert Hur’s audio recordings with President Biden, Oversight Chair James Comer is confident he will get his hands (and ears) on the tapes.
From NEWSMAX:
As part of his investigation into the mishandling of classified documents, special counsel Robert Hur recorded a nearly five-hour interview with President Joe Biden. While some of the interview was summarized in Hur’s report, House Republicans are seeking the full audio so they can obtain a better picture of how Biden responded to Hur’s questioning.
Republicans are hopeful the full audio context will reveal a deeper understanding of Biden’s alleged influence-peddling scheme. Comer, who serves as chairman of the Oversight Committee, said Republicans can hold Garland in contempt or they “can also go to court, which is where this is headed.”
“Are you worried that Merrick Garland is going to run out the clock?” NEWSMAX host Rob Finnerty asks.
“That’s what they’ve been trying to do during this whole investigation — they’ve obstructed at every turn,” Comer says, adding that the mainstream media is not “scolding [the DOJ] for their obstruction.”
“We found mountains of evidence that suggest that Joe Biden was the central figure in the family’s influence-peddling scheme,” Comer adds. “We believe that these classified documents may be a significant part of this influence-peddling scheme.”
“I think there are people that are good judges that see the wrongdoing, that see the abuses of the Garland Department of Justice, and I’m hopeful that through the court process we will win and we can obtain these audio tapes,” Comer adds.
Comer also comments on whether or not his committee will subpoena President Biden.

"We're giving [President Biden] an opportunity to come in before the committee. If he wants a public hearing, he can have it. We've even submitted questions to Joe Biden to make it easier for him."
