According to a New York Post report, a second wave of remote-detonated explosions targeting Hezbollah terrorists were triggered on Wednesday just one day after the exploding pagers.
This time, it was their handheld walkie-talkie radios that were detonated.
From The New York Post:
Additional explosions were reported throughout the capital of Beirut and in the country’s south following Tuesday’s massive security breach that caused Hezbollah pagers to explode, killing at least 12 people and injuring another 2,800.
Some thousands of personal walkie-talkie radios were targeted in Wednesday’s operation, sources told Axios reporter Barak Ravid, which were all ordered from the terror group five months ago, around the same time as the deadly pagers.
At least one of the new blasts heard took place near a funeral organized by the terror group for those killed in the first wave of explosions, which Hezbollah has blamed Israel for, Reuters reported.

“Israel blew up thousands of personal radios (Walkie-Talkies) which were used by Hezbollah members in Lebanon in a second wave of its intelligence operation which started on Tuesday with the explosions of Hezbollah pager devices, per two sources with knowledge,” said Israeli journalist Barak Ravid.
He added, “The personal radios that were booby-trapped in advance by Israeli intelligence services and then delivered to Hezbollah were part of the militia’s emergency communications system which was supposed to be used during a war with Israel, the sources said.”
AP News is reporting that Israel has taken responsibility for Tuesday’s pager explosions but has yet to claim responsibility for the exploding radios.
When asked this morning about Tuesday’s pager explosions, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said “the United States, did not know about, nor was it involved in, these incidents.”
“And we’re still gathering, the information and gathering the facts. Broadly speaking, we’ve been very clear, and we remain very clear about the importance of all parties avoiding any steps that could further escalate the conflict that we’re trying to resolve in Gaza,” Blinken added. “To see it spread to other fronts. It’s clearly not in the interest of anyone involved to see that happen. And that’s why, again, it’s imperative that all parties refrain from any actions that could escalate the conflict.”
Hezbollah also is claiming Wednesday to have attacked Israeli artillery positions with rockets in the wake of the blasts, Reuters reports.
