“They’re not sending their best.”
Education Secretary Miguel Cardona got blasted on social media for trying to channel a famous Ronald Reagan quote —and totally failing in the process.
During the 2023 Winter Meeting for the Western Governors’ Association in Jackson Hole, Wyoming earlier this month, Cardona dropped this gem:
“I think it was President Reagan who said, ‘We’re from the government. We’re here to help.'”
A gross misrepresentation of the quote (and only the second half of it!).
The actual quote is: “The nine most terrifying words in the English language are ‘I’m from the government and I’m here to help.’”
Cardona was roasted on social media for botching the famous Reagan line.
They're not sending their best.

Once you realize this is who is in charge of government education, our horrific literacy rates actually make total sense. https://t.co/opa6HYg0Zc
