TIME FOR ALEJANDRO TO GO! MTG Intros Impeachment Resolution Against Mayorkas

Peach State Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has filed an impeachment resolution against failed Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, The Daily Caller reports.

“Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas, in his failure to uphold the oath he took, has, by his actions, lost the trust of citizens of the United States to faithfully execute the laws of the United States,” the resolution reads. “Wherefore, Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas, thus warrants impeachment and trial, removal from office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any office of honor, trust,
6 or profit under the United States.”

MTG shared the news on X along with a video of her speaking from the House floor.

“BREAKING: I just filed privileged Articles of Impeachment on Secretary Mayorkas. Yesterday, two Americans from my district in Dalton, GA were killed in a high-speed head-on collision at the hands of human traffickers smuggling illegal aliens into this country. They had 5 kids who will never get to say goodbye. The utter disregard for American life displayed by Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas can no longer be ignored. The time for more hearings and phases is over. Americans are getting murdered just traveling to see their families. Lives have been lost forever. Everyone should care. This is not a political issue. That’s why I just introduced privileged Articles to IMPEACH Secretary Mayorkas.”

“The resolution also cites record numbers of illegal immigration under Mayorkas’ leadership, including 10 million crossings ‘broken down between’ eight million encounters and 1.8 million ‘gotaways.’ Greene also cited implications of fentanyl, crime, terrorism and other concerns from the border crisis,” DCNF reports.

The DHS is calling MTG’s impeachment attempt “baseless.”

“While the House Majority has wasted months trying to score points with baseless attacks, Secretary Mayorkas has been doing his job and working to keep Americans safe,” a DHS spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation in a statement. “Under his leadership, the Department of Homeland Security is stopping unprecedented amounts of fentanyl from entering the country, countering threats from the Chinese government, helping communities recover from natural disasters, and working to protect our nation from cyberattacks, terrorism, and targeted violence. Instead of continuing their reckless impeachment charades and attacks on law enforcement, Congress should work with us to keep our country safe, build on the progress DHS is making, and deliver desperately needed reforms for our broken immigration system that only legislation can fix.”
