Was it an apology? Not quite…
Squad Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MI) was quick to adopt and peddle misinformation relating to the so-called “hospital attack” in Gaza on Wednesday, despite the Biden White House confirming that the blast originated from pro-Palestinian terrorists in Gaza.
Omar’s original post —the one that claimed Israel had bombed a hospital —was bombarded with community notes disproving her stance.
Late Wednesday evening, Omar offered excuses and back-peddling —but no “sorry.”
“Our office cited an AP report yesterday that the IDF had hit a Baptist hospital in Gaza. Since then, the IDF denied responsibility and the US intelligence assessment is that this was not done by Israel,” Omar said on X.
“It is a reminder that information is often unreliable and disputed in the fog of war (especially on Twitter where misinformation is rampant). We all have a responsibility to ensure information we are sharing is from credible sources and to acknowledge as new reports come in.”

Not great but better than what fellow squad member Rashid Tlaib did after learning the report was inaccurate.
