43 Senate Republicans signed onto a letter this week demanding that Majority Leader Chuck Schumer move forward with the impeachment hearing of failed DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
Led by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Senate Republicans sent a letter to Schumer urging the Senate to “uphold its constitutional responsibility to properly adjudicate the House of Representatives’ impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas,” reports The Washington Examiner.
Graham shared the news on X:
“Senate Republicans are calling on @SenSchumer to hold an impeachment trial for DHS Secretary Mayorkas. The border crisis under Secretary Mayorkas has become a nightmare for the American people. The House considered this evidence and impeached him. Now the Senate must fulfill its constitutional duty.”

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) agreed to deliver the articles of impeachment against Mayorkas to Schumer next week.
“To ensure the Senate has adequate time to perform its constitutional duty, the House will transmit the articles of impeachment to the Senate next week. There is no reason whatsoever for the Senate to abdicate its responsibility to hold an impeachment trial,” a spokesperson for Johnson told Fox News Digital on Tuesday.
