Democratic Party presidential nominee Kamala Harris will finally sit down for an interview nearly 40 days after President Biden stepped aside. Harris will speak with CNN’s Dana Bash — but not without a little help from her running mate.

Harris will reportedly bring Tim Walz along for the interview, which will be pre-tapped and air at 9pm, Thursday night.

Team Trump says Kamala’s insistence on having Walz along proves she’s incompetent.

“On Thursday — 39 days since being installed as the Democrat nominee — Kamala will sit for her first formal interview* **” the Trump campaign posted on X. “*Joint, since she’s not competent enough to do it on her own. **Taped, so her handlers have time to play damage control.”

CNN panelist Scott Jennings agrees with the Trump campaign, calling Harris’ move “weak sauce.”

“I think it’s incredibly weak, weak sauce, to show up with your running mate,” Jennings, a former special assistant to President George W. Bush, told CNN, adding that the move showed a “troubling lack of confidence in her political ability.”

“It makes you wonder as a voter, ‘what kind of president would you be?’” he continued. “I think Republicans are going to think it’s pretty weak to show up effectively with someone who’ll take up half the time.”
