Musk on Running Government Efficiency Commission: 'No pay, No Title, No Recognition is Needed'

During remarks at the Economic Club of New York on Thursday, former President Donald Trump announced he would create a Government Efficiency Commission if elected and put X owner Elon Musk in charge of it.

The commission will be tasked with “conducting a complete financial and performance audit of the entire federal government.”

“Fraud and improper payments alone cost taxpayers an estimated hundreds of billions of dollars,” Trump said. “As the first order of business, this commission will develop an action plan to totally eliminate fraud and improper payments within six months.”

Musk reacted to news of Trump’s plan on X, saying “I look forward to serving America if the opportunity arises. No pay, no title, no recognition is needed.”
