During Thursday’s Morning Joe, co-host Mika Brzezinski accused former President Barack Obama of being the mastermind behind George Clooney’s brutal New York Times op-ed in which he called for President Biden to step down.
“This wasn’t George Clooney,” Brzezinski said of the op-ed.
“What do you mean?” asked Joe Scarborough. “Who do you think it was? Who do you think it was?”
Scarborough continued to push: “You can say the name, you won’t melt. It’s not Voldemort. Are you saying you think Barack Obama put him up to this?”
Brzezinski responded: “I think that Barack Obama has a lot of influence, and I think that there’s, there’s a lot there.”
“There’s a lot there!” Scarborough said.
“There’s a lot there!” Brzezinski repeated.

Terrible strategy on their part. This will blow up in the Biden campaign’s face. They’re going to make Obama drop the hammer on old Joe. pic.twitter.com/V5ZjXqMmpB

In his op-ed, Clooney blasted Biden’s age and cognitive abilities and insisted he needs to step aside.
“This isn’t only my opinion; this is the opinion of every senator and Congress member and governor that I’ve spoken with in private,” wrote Clooney.
