Despite some initial technical difficulties, tens of millions of people listened to the X Space sitdown between former President Donald Trump and X owner Elon Musk Monday night. Shortly after the discussion, the Harris-Walz campaign sent a fundraising email blasting Musk as a “lackey for Team MAGA.”
“Musk already ruined Twitter by allowing hate speech and disinformation to flood the platform. Now, Musk is using his vast fortune and broad reach to try to control our democracy,” the fundraising email concluded.
“Donald Trump’s extremism and dangerous Project 2025 agenda is a feature not a glitch of his campaign, which was on full display for those unlucky enough to listen in tonight during whatever that was on X.com,” Harris campaign spokesperson Joseph Costello said.
“Trump’s entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself — self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024,” Costello added.
Despite the criticism, Musk extended an X Spaces invited to Kamala Harris, as well.
“Happy to host Kamala on an X Spaces too,” Musk posted.
