South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham wrote a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray this week urging him to correct a statement he made during recent testimony in front of the House Judiciary Committee.
Wray made a comment that suggested Donald Trump may not have been hit by a bullet, but shrapnel or something else.
“I urge you to immediately correct your statement and acknowledge that President Trump was hit by a bullet rather than glass or shrapnel,” Graham wrote in his letter.
“It is clear to everyone that President Trump survived an assassination attempt by millimeters, as the attempted assassin’s bullet ripped the upper part of his ear,” Graham wrote, adding it shouldn’t be a “matter of contention.”
“As head of the FBI, you should not be creating confusion about such matters, as it further undercuts the agency’s credibility with millions of Americans.”

During Wednesday’s congressional hearing, Wray said that “with respect to former President Trump, there’s some question about whether or not it’s a bullet or shrapnel that, you know, hit his ear.”
