During Monday’s White House press briefing, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre shared that the White House thinks the Secret Service did a “thorough” investigation of the Cocaine in the West Wing.
No suspects. No interviews. Nothing. But thorough.
“Look, we believe that the Secret Service did a thorough investigation. I’m certainly not going to opine on the investigation,” she said. “Of course, we’re going to have confidence that they’re going to do their jobs and do everything that they can to get to the bottom of this.”
“But as you’ve just stated, we’ve been briefed on the outcome. And in their public statement, as well as the Secret Service has said there is a … there [were] hundreds of visitors that traveled through this area where the cocaine was found across that weekend,” she continued.”
The Secret Service closed the investigation into the cocaine culprit last week after coming up empty-handed.
“The investigation will not be able to single out a person of interest from the hundreds of individuals who passed through the vestibule where the cocaine was discovered,” the agency said in a statement.
