Florida authorities have released the bodycam footage showing the arrest of Ryan Wesley Routh — the would-be Trump assassin who was caught attempting to flee West Palm Beach on I-95.
The clip, released by the Martin County Sheriff’s Office, shows Routh being cuffed with his shirt over his head.
“Driver, walk straight back. Keep walking,” a local law enforcement officer before Routh was cuffed.
From The New York Post:
The suspect was nabbed some 40 minutes after he allegedly fled from the sniper’s nest he’d set up along the outskirts of the former president’s Trump International West Palm Beach golf course, authorities said.
Secret Service agents stationed a few holes up from where Trump was playing golf had spotted the muzzle of his rifle sticking through the shrubbery that lines the course — roughly 400 yards away.
Routh appeared briefly in federal court in West Palm Beach on Monday, where he was charged with possessing a firearm despite being a convicted felon and possessing a firearm with an obliterated serial number.
More serious charges are expected to follow.
