'Biden Should Not Seek Re-Election': Vulnerable Senator Jon Tester Calls on Joe to Go, Looped in Schumer; Report

By Eric Bolling Staff

WASHINGTON, DC - JULY 8: U.S. Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT) departs the Capitol on July 8, 2024 in Washington, DC. Several Democratic members of Congress have urged President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race after his June 27 debate against presumed Republican nominee Donald Trump. Concerns about Biden's age and perceived slowing down have intensified, with critics fearing these issues could undermine his ability to effectively challenge Trump in the upcoming election. Montana Senator Jon Tester is calling on President Biden to end his re-election campaign. The Big Sky Dem is the second Senator to call on Biden to leave the race; Sen. Peter Welch (D-VT) was the first.

“Montanans have put their trust in me to do what is right, and it is a responsibility I take seriously. I have worked with President Biden when it has made Montana stronger, and I’ve never been afraid to stand up to him when he is wrong,” Tester said in a statement.

“And while I appreciate his commitment to public service and our country, I believe President Biden should not seek re-election to another term.”

According to multiple reports, Tester informed Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer before releasing his statement.

Tester faces a tough race in Montana as he attempts to secure a fourth term. Most outlets have Tester’s race as a “toss-up.”
