During Monday’s White House press briefing, admin spox John Kirby was asked about the billions of dollars that were unfrozen last year for Iran to access.

Does Kirby think it was a bad idea in retrospect now that Iran has launched an unprecedented number of drones and missiles at Israel? Not really.

“Is there any regret here about unfreezing billions of dollars for Iranian leaders during the President’s administration?” Fox News Peter Doocy asked Kirby.

“What unfreezing are you talking about? For Iranian leaders?! I don’t think so,” Kirby shot back.

“Okay, you say it’s for humanitarian purposes,” Doocy says.

“But you don’t believe me,” Kirby fires back.

“Doesn’t that free up money to spend on other stuff? Where did they get money to spend on an unprecedented number of munitions to fire at Israel?” Doocy asks.

“First of all, I’m betting they’re sitting in Tehran and they’re taking it pretty seriously when President Biden says he’s going to defend Israel,” Kirby says. “And as for this unfreezing…it can only be used for humanitarian purposes and we’re watching that account very closely to make sure that’s what happens.”
